Garden Flowers

We have had a collection of Amaryllis that have been popping up around the garden in the last few weeks.

Now that I know what these clumps of bulbs are, I can transplant them to more fertile areas of the garden. There are large clumps where a single bulb was planted decades ago and having finally identified what they are, after they have produced leaves, I can break up the clumps and replant them where we can ensure they get water to grow and a dry period as they need it.

You can see 2 more flower spikes coming up in the bottom picture. These were bulbs I found lying on the grass/soil, not in the ground, so not knowing what they were I bunged them in a hole or two under the fence and filled it with soil! They loved it.
